An Immersive Winter Wonderland & Santa Experience

The Grotto is Manchester’s immersive winter wonderland and Santa experience, where families step inside a magical festive story brought to life. Journey through a series of enchanting rooms, meet our joyful elves and take on festive missions along the way, before the adventure leads to the moment everyone’s been waiting for… meeting Santa himself. More than simply a visit to Santa, The Grotto is a magical journey designed for the whole family to experience together, creating festive memories that last long after you leave.

This year, The Grotto is coming to the iconic Manchester Corn Exchange. Steeped in history, packed with character and right in the heart of Manchester, we couldn’t imagine a more magical setting for the next chapter of The Grotto. 

How long does the experience last?

The Grotto's immersive and magical experience lasts approx. 30 minutes. You'll explore multiple rooms with the joyful elves, completing festive missions along the way, before meeting Santa in his cost cabin for photos and gifts! 

Does the ticket include photos & a gift?

Each child ticket comes with a FREE GIFT. You can take your own photos and videos as you journey through the rooms, but a professional photo will be taken with Santa which you can purchase, as a magical keepsake for life!

Booking Slots

Your selected booking at The Grotto grants you a 10-minute entry window. Each booking must include at least one festive elder (adult). To begin your journey, children must be accompanied, with no more than five total explorers per group (adults and children). Please arrive 5 minutes early to ensure a smooth experience.

Whispering Winter Sessions

At the heart of the festive season, we treasure the universal magic of Christmas. To ensure the ‘Dear Santa’ experience is a joy for every child. We’re introducing ‘Whispering Winter’ sessions which be exclusively for those with Special Educational Needs and Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Recognising that a bustling grotto might be overwhelming for some, these sessions  will have The Grotto’s sounds gently muted, creating a calm and magical setting for all to meet Santa.

To ensure each child can enjoy the magic at their own pace, we will be welcoming fewer guests during each booking slot. Our jovial elves and Santa himself are devoted to making every moment special and are ready to adjust and convey their festive greetings in a manner that resonates with each unique family.

Child - £29.50 per person

Adult - £14.50 per person (half price!)

[Carers will be asked to show a letter that states which disability benefits the person they care for receives]

Each booking carries a small yuletide service fee at checkout and is sealed with North Pole magic, making it non-refundable. The Grotto is a magical journey through our immersive wonderland, best experienced with your fellow Christmas companions from your chosen time slot. If you’re dreaming of experiencing the magic with more friends or family, make sure you all hop onto the same booking slot, or book simultaneous times if your group is a gathering of more than five. Every entry requires at least one festive elder and one child with no more than five Christmas explorers in one group.
