Cow Pat Challenge 2026

What you need to know

The Cow Pat Challenge 2026 is back – and it’s one of the most fun (and slightly unpredictable) ways to support Tynedale RFC.

Here’s how it works. Every £10 ticket sold is allocated to a square on the main pitch. After the final home 1st XV match on Saturday 11th April, Clarence the Cow will be released onto the field. The very first square she chooses to bless is the winner – and the single ticket linked to that square wins £1,000 CASH.

But this challenge isn’t just about the prize. Every ticket sold plays a direct role in supporting the club. Half of each ticket goes towards ongoing improvements to the clubhouse, bar, and catering facilities – spaces used by players, families, and supporters all season long. The other half goes straight back to the teams who sold the tickets, helping fund kit, equipment, team activities, and experiences in the 2026/27 season.

The size of the pitch squares is determined by how many tickets are sold. In 2024, nearly 1,000 tickets were snapped up, creating squares of around six square metres – so every ticket genuinely shapes the event.

The Cow Pat Challenge takes place as part of a big end-of-season celebration, bringing together players, parents, coaches, volunteers, and supporters from across the club for a brilliant afternoon of rugby and socialising.

Buy a ticket, back your team, support the club, and join us on 11th April to see where Clarence decides the winner.
