The Vault Arts Centre, Newton Stewart, United Kingdom
Redfish Blues Band
With influences including Eric Clapton, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jimmie Vaughan, Booker T, Albert, Freddie and B.B. King, this band has developed a delicious, bubbling gumbo of blues, soul, gospel and funk, with live performances defined by a swirling dynamic energy (and restraint) and the visibly obvious delight of personal interaction, in the moment, between performers at the top of their game.
The band, who have recently collaborated with The Cinelli Brothers on the superb “British Blues Summit” album “No Country For Bluesmen” is fronted by the charismatic Christian Sharpe, a consummate master of improvisation and dynamics. The Cinellis/ Redfish BB single “Together is Better” is blazing a spectacular trail across the community.
