What you need to know

SubFun brings you the best festival work-in-progress shows from your favourite comics, using our ethos of diversity and inclusion!

SubFun presents these wonderful artists doing a work-in-progress show that will eventually bring them awards beyond their wildest dreams! We will have fun and games, prizes and most importantly comedy!

Jen Ives, brings her wonderfully straight (in EVERY way!) show 'I'm straight now',

Jen is an absolute comedy powerhouse, she's brought many amazing shows to Edinburgh and this promises to be fantastic! I have seen some wip clips and they are superb. She's a stand up and writer and she has some killer credits such as James Acaster's podcast 'Springleaf', she's appeared on Comedy Central and Joe Lycett's Big Pride Party for Channel 4.

"A brilliant comedian" Joe Lycett

Matthew Ali is hosting our final WIP of the year, he performs at pro gigs including Backyard Comedy Club, Queer Comedy Club, and runs his own night called Rise Up Comedy. He was a runner up at 2024 Komedia New Act awards, finalist in Comedy Virgins Max Turner Prize 2023, Dabbers Next Top Bingo Caller 2023 and came second in the Not So New Act West End 2023.

Finally, SubFun's own Nicola Nash is doing a split bill with the wickedly funny Rabiah Coon their show is called Not Normal what's it about, you tell us! But seriously we both cover our lives, mental/physical health, and how we get 'you're Not Normal' shouted at us by our family members a little too often for our liking!

“Rabiah’s set was probably my favourite as the delivery was unique in its bluntness and I am a huge fan of blunt humour.” The Edge

‘Nicola is a joy to watch! A fierce and funny firecracker!’ Laura Smyth
