What you need to know

Specifically aimed at Stagecoach Teachers (Early Stages & Main Stages), Managers and Principals, this 150 minute session explores how to gain a better understanding of Inclusion and SEND and understand how to deliver a fully inclusive learning environment.

Whether you're new to Stagecoach teaching or would just like a refresh on great practice, this remote workshop explores will develop your confidence in welcoming all students regardless of prior experience to support excellence in inclusive performing arts teaching and learning!

  • Quality First Teaching - What it is and what it looks like
  • Communicating with parents
  • Transition strategies
  • Supporting students with disabilities, learning and health conditions
  • Difficult conversations
  • The Principal as your support
  • Maximising the use of the teaching assistant

As well as being Principal of Stagecoach Havant, Claire is also a qualified SENCo and is an Assistant Headteacher, with responsibility for Inclusion. Claire is passionate about ensuring every young person is giving opportunities to thrive and firmly believes that all students should feel safe and secure, which in turn will encourage risk taking, which will allow students to build courage, creativity and confidence – skills that will empower all young people and support them in their journeys into adulthood.


Alita Mills - Learning Consultant

Alita is a music and performing arts educator in the broadest sense. She has taught in formal, informal, mainstream, special needs, academic and vocational settings. In her role as Director in several arts organisations, Alita has led on teacher training, mentoring, income generation and programme development both in the UK and internationally. Core to many initiatives has been her development of community, education and business partnerships.

Such is the joy of being involved in the world of education and the performing arts.
