What you need to know

We are excited to announce that this summer sees the return of the Streatfeild Family Players!

Following the success of their 2023 country house comedy “An Hour at Bunbury Towers”, by Rodentia Forsyth, raising £14k+ for charity, we are now proud to present her sequel:

“The Finest Hour at Bunbury Towers”.

Set in the spring of 1940, the eccentric residents of the dilapidated seafront mansion are preparing for the threat of a German invasion, possibly on the beachfront of Bunbury Towers itself.  To do their bit for morale, Lady Bettina Penge has gathered the residents to perform a stirring pageant for the local airmen and their families. But little do they know the pivotal role they will all play in determining the course of the war. For unbeknownst to them, the key to the future of the free world is in their very midst and in dire need of a dose of their unique spirit…

Staged in the grounds of the family home, there will be more than 30 Streatfeilds from three generations gathering to perform. With only 120 seats for each performance, act in haste now and secure your tickets, then repent at leisure with a glass of pimms in hand as you enjoy a  light-hearted and mercifully short performance (leaving much time for picnicking and gossiping with friends).

On a serious note, the main aim of this frolic is to raise money for an epilepsy charity. As most will know, our late father, Mervyn, lived with epilepsy throughout his life. This was ultimately brought under control thanks to the results of some ground breaking research at the time. Epilepsy continues to be a severe illness in the UK affecting around 700,000 people, and the new research projects not only benefit these people and their families, but also those suffering from a number of related neurological illnesses.

It is for this reason we ask that you give generously. Tickets are available for a suggested donation of £30, but course, any addition to this amount that you felt able to give would be greatly appreciated and be of huge help to a worthy and underfunded cause.

How do I get tickets? Select your tickets above and donate as much as you can on the donation page!

Where do I donate lots of money to a great cause? After you select your ticket please decide on your donation amount - if you would like to donate but can't make it please contact rolandstreatfeild@gmail.com

And of course, if you can’t come but would still like to donate that would also be hugely appreciated! Last time we raised a staggering £14,000 and it would be just wonderful if we were able to top that this time round! if you would like to donate but can't make it please contact rolandstreatfeild@gmail.com

As many of you know, Dad gave the last of many cherished performances back in 2023 and we’re hoping to conjure up something suitably entertaining this time in his memory.  No doubt he’d be chuffed to bits to know that a family tradition he so loved was still thriving.

So we very much hope you are able to join us! I think it’s safe to say that we can promise you a spectacle unlike anything else you will have ever seen!

We look forward to seeing you there!
