Planned reopening of facilities
Daily - Porcupine Pantry Cafe - Currently takeaway only (9am - 4.30pm). Outdoor seating likely to return from 12th April, indoor seating from 17th May
From 27th March - Gardens & Grounds, Playground, Woodland Trail and Lake Park
From 12th April - Gift Shop
From 17th May - House and Toy Museum

Government Guidance on who can meet up
27th - 29th March - From the local area, single household and support bubble visits only OR to meet up with one other person from a different household
From 29th March - Visitors can meet with one other household, or within the "group of 6"
From 12th April - The Gift Shop will be re-opening, outdoor seating will be provided for the Porcupine Pantry Cafe and up to two households or a group of 6 can meet up to visit Penshurst Place together.
From 17th May - The House & Toy Museum will re-open. Indoor seating for the Porcupine Pantry will be available. A review on social distancing is expected.
Post 21st June - Above measures to be reviewed, many are expected to be lifted.

Historic Houses Members
If you are a member of the Historic Houses Association, you will be able to use this same system to reserve a space. Please remember to bring along your HHA membership card when you visit so this can be verified. If you do not bring your membership card with you, you will not be permitted entrance to Penshurst Place and Gardens.

Season Ticket Holders
Please select spaces ONLY for the number registered to your season ticket. Additional members of your party that exceed the number of guests permitted on your season ticket will require a separate ticket. Please book using the name on your season ticket

Please be aware, only registered assistance dogs are allowed past the paid perimeter into Penshurst Place.
For wheelchair users and those with walking or mobility difficulties, we provide a variety of alternative routes and experiences. The more we know in advance of your visit, the more we can help, so do call us in advance to inform us of any special requirements you may have.

Penshurst Place

Located in West Kent, Penshurst Place is just 7 miles from Royal Tunbridge Wells. It is easily accessible from Junction 5 of the M25 and is just over 1 hour from London and the Channel Tunnel. Satnav TN11 8DG.
From M25 Junction 5 follow A21 to Tonbridge, leaving at Hildenborough exit; then follow brown tourist signs.
From M20/M26 Junction 2a follow A25 (Sevenoaks), A21 for Hildenborough, then follow brown tourist signs.
There is ample free car parking in our main visitor car park, close to the Visitor Entrance and Gift Shop. Parking for the disabled is signed and on the hard-standing area next to our Visitor Entrance and Gift Shop.
For coaches, allocated hard-standing coach parking is located adjacent to the Visitor Entrance. Double decker coaches unable to fit in the archway entrance (3.8m high by 2.4m wide) can drop off at an alternative entrance and park in the lay-by in the village. Please call us in advance to arrange.

Train to Tunbridge Wells Station, then taxi to Penshurst (7 miles).
Train to Edenbridge Station, then bus 231 & 233 (excludes Sundays).
Train to Tonbridge Station, then taxi to Penshurst (6miles).
Train to Penshurst Station, then walk (2.5 miles, on roads with no footpaths).
Penshurst Place can be accessed mostly off road from Tonbridge by following the blue Regional Cycle Route 12 signs. There are cycle racks at Penshurst Place are situated outside the main Visitor Entrance and Gift Shop.
We have assigned accessible spaces close to the visitor entrance for all blue badge holders. We also have a hanfdul of wheelchairs that are available to reserve, all you need to do is give us a calla few days before your visit so that we can ensure one is put aside for you.
As a grade-listed garden some of the paths are a little trickier to traverse than others, but we do have an accessible route that you can download here
