What you need to know

Enjoy an evening of theatre at Penshurst Place and Gardens this summer, in partnership with Facsimile Productions who will be performing  an interpretation of the Novella Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

The Play:

The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. By Andrew and David Hobbs. Based on the novella by Robert Louis Stevenson. When the Police Investigation into the brutal murder of Sir Danvers Carew fails to yield anything other than the name of a suspect who seems to have disappeared, his daughter Cordelia joins forces with her late father's lawyer Gabriel Utterson to try to uncover the truth. But where is the sinister Edward Hyde and what is his connection to the Utterson's friend Dr Henry Jekyll?

The Venue:

Entrance and parking is via our private driveway, and the show will take place on the South Lawn, overlooking the Italian Garden.

Doors will open at 5.30pm after we have closed to the general public, when you will be able to enjoy a private wander through the gardens and the opportunity to purchase a drink from our bar, before it's curtains up at 7pm. Picnics are also permitted. We will not be providing seating so please bring along folding chairs or a picnic blanket to sit on as well as suitable clothes and perhaps a blanket or two!
