Enjoy an evening of theatre at Penshurst Place and Gardens this summer, in partnership with British Touring Shakespeare who will be performing an interpretation of Romeo & Juliet
Expect to be entertained, thrilled and moved as British Touring Shakespeare draw on their decades of experience to deliver an unforgettable night among the stars watching this story of star crossed lovers, bringing the company’s renowned strengths of energy and accessibility to Shakespeare’s timeless classic tale of doomed love.
“Tragedy at its best, alfresco and with the pungency of the night.” – Andrew Liddle, The Stage
“To be honest, in an ideal world, Shakespeare probably IS better when performed outdoors. And in an ideal world it would always be performed by British Touring Shakespeare. Shakespeare as it should be” ***** Dave Evans, Remote Goat
Entrance and parking is via our private driveway, and the show will take place on the South Lawn, overlooking the Italian Garden.
Doors will open at 5.30pm after we have closed to the general public, when you will be able to enjoy a private wander through the gardens and the opportunity to purchase a drink from our bar, before it's curtains up at 7pm. Picnics are also permitted. We will not be providing seating so please bring along folding chairs or a picnic blanket to sit on as well as suitable clothes and perhaps a blanket or two!
