Historian, author and podcaster, Matt Lewis, will be joining us to discuss what really happened in 1483! That critical and turbulent year when we had three Kings of England: Edward IV, Edward V and Richard III. Was a crown ruthlessly snatched or was it rested upon the rightful heir? Were two nephews cruelly locked up and even murdered? There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end and get your books signed by Matt as well.
Speaker:
Matt Lewis is a British historian and author specializing in the medieval period, with a particular focus on the Wars of the Roses and Richard III. He is a Senior Presenter at History Hit and a co-host of the podcast Gone Medieval. Matt is also the author of numerous historical books and maintains a history blog, all of which we highly recommend!

Where to find us:
Find us in front of the Abbey, by walking up the wooden ramp.
Car: Take Junction 9 off the M5 and follow the signs to Tewkesbury Abbey.
There are numerous car parks nearby, such as Gander Lane Car Park. You may also want to consider a car share.
Rail: The nearest railway station is Ashchurch for Tewkesbury. There is a bus stop a short walk away for the 42 bus will bring you into Tewkesbury.
Bus: As well as the bus that serves the railway station, there is also a regular service from Cheltenham (41) which stops in the Crescent which is almost next to the museum. There is also a bus service from Gloucester (71) which stops in the town centre, which is a short walk away.
Bike: If you cycle to the museum you may leave your bike in our courtyard garden.
Walk: If you are staying in Tewkesbury you’ll find most hotels and B&Bs are a short walk away from the museum which is centrally located in Church Street.
