This captivating session features acclaimed historian and novelist Katie Hickman in conversation about her celebrated Aviary Gate series. Katie Hickman is a best-selling novelist and historian, with a special interest in women's stories. She is the author of ten books which between them have sold more than a quarter of a million copies worldwide. Her most recent work, Brave Hearted: The Dramatic Story of Women of the American West, won the prestigious Willa Award for the best non-fiction work about the American West in 2023. Her highly-acclaimed series of novels, The Aviary Gate, The Pindar Diamond and The House at Bishopsgate, a trilogy about the lives and loves of Levant Company merchants, is set in early seventeenth century Constantinople, Venice, and rural Wiltshire. The trilogy has been translated into 20 languages. Katie Hickman lives in London on a converted barge near Tower Bridge.

Find us by the Abbey in a beautifully restored row of timber framed buildings. The Old Baptist Chapel is located opposite the museum, along a little medieval alleyway.
Car: Take Junction 9 off the M5 and follow the signs to Tewkesbury Abbey.
There are numerous car parks nearby. You may also want to consider a car share.
Rail: The nearest railway station is Ashchurch for Tewkesbury. There is a bus stop a short walk away for the 42 bus will bring you into Tewkesbury.
Bus: As well as the bus that serves the railway station, there is also a regular service from Cheltenham (41) which stops in the Crescent which is almost next to the museum. There is also a bus service from Gloucester (71) which stops in the town centre, which is a short walk away.
Bike: If you cycle to the museum you may leave your bike in our courtyard garden.
