Back in the day, we weren't averse to doing a BOY GEORGE style dress-up, or replicating the 30's style trenchcoat cool of MIDGE URE, complete with Clarke Gable sideburns and 'tache (which was difficult, considering Jez was only 13 at the time, but boy did he try - sadly, no photographic evidence exists!!), but it was and still is ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC! Classic tunes like FADE TO GREY, TO CUT A LONG STORY SHORT, KARMA CHAMELEON, ANT-MUSIC, FASHION, QUIET LIFE, PLANET EARTH, POISON ARROW and THE MODEL are genre classics which never failed to fill the dancefloor at London clubs like BLITZ, BILLY'S and CLUB FOR HEROES. This is our chance to go back and dance like it's 1981 (or 1980, or 1982 if you prefer!).

We'll be prepping a playlist featuring all the big New Romantic tunes, expanded by synth classics from the likes of GARY NUMAN, DEPECHE MODE, DEAD OR ALIVE, HOWARD JONES, THOMPSON TWINS, OMD, HEAVEN 17, KRAFTWERK, SIMPLE MINDS, A FLOCK OF SEAGULLS, NEW ORDER and more besides .

And if you fancy the idea of dressing in 80s New Romantic style, please do - we love seeing people in fancy dress! In fact, as incentive, if you do come along in fancy dress, there's a chance to win a pair of tickets to ELECTRIC SUMMER, the 80s synthpop festival headlined by HOWARD JONES, HEAVEN 17 and BLANCMANGE in Vivary Park on 30 August.
