The Cheltenham Festival is held over four days in March and culminates in the highlight of the festival the Cheltenham Gold Cup, the most prestigious race in the jump calendar. The race is open to horses aged five years or older with different weights based both on age and gender.

The race is held over three miles and two and a half furlongs, with a total of 22 fences to be negotiated, the Gold Cup was first run in 1819 as a flat race over 3 miles, with the winner receiving a staggering prize pot of £625.000.00

Following the iconic race, another three races await, The St. James’s Place Foxhunter Steeple Chase Challenge Cup, the Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Handicap Chase and the last race of the day being the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle.
