Take a moment to enjoy and observe nature in the beautiful surroundings of Hever Castle & Gardens. Look at how flowers are put together and translate the shapes and character into sketches. After making some initial pencil observations, head outside and sketch in the garden (weather permitting). Back in the workshop, apply loose watercolour and fine liner pens to create expressive, quick, colour sketches. No prior drawing experience is necessary. This course focuses on enjoying the mindful process of observing and connecting with nature. Sketching offers a wonderful opportunity to slow down, be present, and unwind from the demands of everyday life.

There will be an assortment of pencils, fine liners and watercolours available to use on the course. Please bring a hardback sketchbook, minimum paperweight 160 gsm, or contact learning@hevercastle.co.uk to purchase one to be provided on the day.

Tea and coffee will be provided. Please bring a packed lunch, or else take advantage of the Moat Restaurant. There will be a half hour lunch break.
