CakeWalk is a trio of musicians playing songs rooted in a love of pre-war blues music and beyond!

They start from an exploration of the lyrics and structures of recordings made by Afro-American Artists in the 1920s and 30s. They have a fondness for the work of those Artists who may be less familiar to UK audiences, and whose songs are often overlooked.

The trio’s instrumentation is inspired by those original recordings, and leaves plenty of space for the broad musical histories of the three walkers to weave and build.
They play acoustic instruments, without amplification. Just the air and the room.
