What you need to know

Funky Again is not about recreating 2008 or doing another nostalgia rave. It brings together the original DJs and producers who helped create the sound, the artists carrying it today, and newer talent taking it somewhere different. This is not a reunion and it is not an old-school night. It is a current event with history behind it.

THE VENUE

XOYO in Shoreditch, two rooms running side by side all night. The Basement downstairs carries the UK Funky room, The Jungle upstairs is House Fest's. Doors 3pm, last tune 1am. Old Street is the nearest station, on the Northern line and National Rail.

Using public transit is highly recommended, as the venue is exceptionally well-connected. [1]

  • By Underground (Tube) & Rail: Old Street Station (Northern Line and National Rail) is the closest transit hub. Take Exit 1 from the station; the venue entrance is less than a 1-minute walk away, located just off the main roundabout down Cowper Street. [1, 2, 3]
  • Alternative Stations: Shoreditch High Street Station (London Overground) is roughly a 10-minute walk east. Liverpool Street Station is a 15-minute walk south. [1]
  • By Bus: Multiple bus lines stop right by Old Street Station. Key routes serving the venue include 21, 43, 55, 76, 135, 141, 205, 214, and 243. Several of these run 24-hour services. [1]
  • Night Travel: The Northern line Night Tube
XOYO is committed to welcoming all guests, but due to its historic, multi-level layout, certain spaces have layout constraints. [1]
  • Step-Free Access: The venue features step-free access to the ground floor ("The Jungle" room). The main underground room (The Basement) and VIP spaces are accessed via stairs and are currently not fully wheelchair accessible.
  • Accessible Toilets: A fully accessible, RADAR-key-operated toilet is located on the ground floor level.
  • Accessible Parking: There are no designated Blue Badge bays directly on Cowper Street. The nearest public Blue Badge parking is located on Provost Street. However, if you contact the venue team at least 48 hours in advance, they can arrange to reserve a drop-off/parking space right outside the main entrance.
  • Companion Tickets: Complimentary companion/essential personal assistant tickets are available for accessible bookings.
  • How to Arrange Support: Attendees with specific mobility, seating, or accessibility requirements should contact the venue team directly before the night via email at xoyolondon@propagandavenues.com.
  • Important Entry Requirements To guarantee a smooth entry process, please remind your attendees:
    • Physical Photo ID: XOYO has a strict entry policy. All guests must bring an original, physical photo ID (Passport or UK Driving Licence). Digital copies or photos on phones are not accepted. [1, 2]
    • Dress Code: Smart casual. Clean trainers are fine, but sportswear, tracksuits, hoodies, baseball caps, and flip-flops/sliders are prohibited. [1, 2, 3, 4]
