Public Roadworks diversion may add a little time to your journey.

We just wanted to let you know of the public roadworks leading to Chiddingstone village which may affect your journey time.

Please note that the B2027 from Leigh/Tonbridge direction will be temporarily closed from Tuesday 10th August for public mains water works in August, September, October 2021. A council diversion is in place which could add 20 to 30 mins to your journey.  Please check on Kent County Council for updates https://one.network/?tmi=GB20726964.

We suggest the following diversion route which may add an extra 15mins to your journey time, but do please check maps/satnavs before heading out.

From Leigh, keep left onto Penshurst Road. At the T junction in Penshurst village, turn right onto B2188, over the bridge and take the next right into Grove Road. Continue to the end of the road, and turn right, passing the cricket club on the right. At the Chiddingstone Hoath triangle, turn right. Continue along this country lane, passing The Rock pub on the right. Keep right onto Wellers Town Road. This brings you into Chiddingstone village, pass the school on the left, follow the road round, over the bridge and the castle entrance is on the left.

We look forward to seeing you.  Enjoy your day if it's your first visit, and welcome back if you are a regular friend of the Castle!
