Join our expert volunteer Mick Hicks and curator Naomi Collick to discover the Japanese sword.

Mick and Naomi will explain the features of swords and their fittings. They will demonstrate how we care for the sword collection at the castle to preserve them for the future. Visitors will have the chance to view a Japanese sword up close.

Also on display will be a tsuba (sword hand guard) and materials used for sword maintenance which visitors can handle. 

Each session will last 30 minutes with a maximum of 10 tickets available. 

Please note: due to the nature of the talk, the minimum age for attendees is 10 years.
